What is Neurological Vocational Rehabilitation?

The ability to work and support ourselves financially is a luxury that provides structure and purpose, and contributes to improved well-being and self-esteem.

However, when living with a neurological condition or neurodivergent diagnosis, this luxury is often prevented by challenges and complex decisions. A significant number of individuals have lingering issues affecting their ability to return to, and remain in, work. Neurological vocational rehabilitation is for individuals living with a neurological condition, or is suspected or diagnosed with a neurodivergent condition. It is suitable for those who are at work or are absent from work.

Neurological vocational rehabilitation is for employers or insurance referrers who are helping support an individual stay at work, or return to work, commonly through an income protection policy.

How Occupational Therapists Provide Voc Rehab

Our neurological occupational therapists can assist employers and their referred employee by providing vocational rehabilitation that may focus on a graded return-to-work plan or a work readiness programme.

Effective communication between each party reduces these issues and ensures an efficient return to work; an education to all parties is also essential to understanding an individual's diagnosis.
