What are the Neuro OT for Education Assessments?

At Krysalis, two specialist assessments are frequently used within our neurogical occupational therapy for education service.

The Foundations of Success Assessment provides an in-depth exploration of the barriers affecting learning and everyday function. It examines sensory needs, environmental influences, the learning environment, and personal impact factors, clarifying how traits or symptoms influence well-being and participation.

The other, the Fundamental Sensory Assessment, focuses specifically on sensory processing and integration. It includes standardised sensory assessments, functional observations across home and school, and tools such as the SPM-2 and Ayres clinical observations to determine how sensory challenges influence behaviour, learning, and well-being.

Educational Neuro OT Services

Our educational neuro OT services support children and young people who are navigating learning challenges, developmental differences, or significant changes in their educational journey.

Our neurological occupational therapists work to understand the roots of these challenges and their impact on daily function across home, school, and transitional settings. Intervention may include recommendations for environmental modifications, adaptive equipment and aids, introducing tools and strategies to overcome barriers, and providing EHCPs. The latter are a legally binding document outlining a child or teenager's special educational, health, and social care needs.
