Reviewing the CMSUK conference: The Identity Journey

From powerful journeys to perceptive sessions, the recent CMSUK “The Identity Journey” conference was a hub of professional growth and expert insights.
We were thrilled to have exhibited at this amazing two-day event on March 27th and 28th 2025.
The conference, held in Solihull, was dedicated to exploring the process of rediscovering identity after an accident, how individuals navigate the physical, mental, and emotional changes that are caused by life-altering events such as acquiring a brain injury.
The event featured various talks and abstract presentations on topics such as vestibular issues, functional capacity evaluations, therapeutic relationships, and so much more.
Identity is grounded in who we are in relationship - how we 'do' life in community around shared values - not as a bunch of disconnected individuals.
Krysalis Founder and CEO, Jo Throp
Our Krysalis team had a wonderful day, and it was great to see our fellow exhibitors, as well as some new and familiar faces.
We want to thank everyone who said hello and engaged in some fantastic discussions.
We were excited to get involved in conversations about vocational rehabilitation and more, and we were blown away by the profound and moving talks from an array of speakers - from 'The Traitors' star and brain injury survivor Andrew Jenkins to the Sketchers Art Therapy Group.
Krysalis Founder and CEO, Jo Throp, said this about the day: "Many of my conversations over the last two days were around a concern for others, supporting each other, providing services that made a difference, and having fun along the way."
It is so great to meet and hear from so many inspiring individuals and companies and share with them our belief in realising the endless possibilities and potential of people.
Clinical Operations Lead, Katie Bastick
Overall, the day focused on the power of identity and how rediscovering it after life-altering events is so important.
It is something we at Krysalis are enthusiastic about, so it was a delight to have attended such a key event.
