What's on in July 2022? Occupational therapy, brain injury and neurorehabilitation events

We've rounded up some of the main events this July for anyone interested in occupational therapy, brain injury and neurorehabilitation.

You will find links to these fantastic events at the bottom of the page or via the numbers referenced.

Give it a REST

Professionals working with adults and children with sleep issues are invited to join a REST sleep management course this month.

The two-day course offers evidence-based information and tools to increase understanding of sleep-related challenges, including:

  • Sleep problems linked to long-term health conditions
  • Insomnia
  • The purpose of sleep
  • Good sleep practices
  • Non-pharmacological treatments and approaches
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBTi)

Delegates can attend either or both days of the course, to be held on the 1st and 2nd of July at The Wesley Euston Hotel in London.

Munch on this

Time-pressed case managers are being encouraged to spend an hour digesting the latest industry updates - at the same time as their lunch.

The Institute of Registered Case Managers (I.R.C.M.) hosts free monthly check-ins to keep members updated – and hopes the lunchtime scheduling will prove popular.

The virtual check-ins, hosted by I.R.C.M. Directors, are informal two-way sessions, sometimes including guest speakers.

They are also a means for the I.R.C.M. to collect views and ideas to help shape the organisation.

"Feel free to make it a working lunch and enjoy your coffee or sandwiches during these sessions," an I.R.C.M. spokesperson said.

"We understand your time is valuable and appreciate your support."

The next check-in, focusing on education, is on 6th July from 12 pm to 1 pm. Further details via the Vocational Rehabilitation Association here: [2]

Naidex 2022

It is hailed as Europe's most established event for the disability, independent living, and healthcare sectors – and it's all free!

Naidex opens at Birmingham's N.E.C. on the 6th and 7th of July, with this year's offerings including over 125 exhibitors and 100 seminars across the two days.

There will be celebrity appearances by British athlete James Cracknell O.B.E. and Paralympic Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson, along with live music, comedy, and dance performances.

Other attractions include a mobility test track, an adaptive climbing wall and the Naidex marketplace, where visitors can discover and trial some of the latest disability and independent living products.

Neuro Convention

Brain and spine experts gather at the 2022 Neuro Convention this month to focus on four specialist areas: rehabilitation, mental health, diagnostics, and brain and spine injury.

Among the 50-plus exhibitors will be the latest neurological innovations aimed at improving patient outcomes.

There will be opportunities to see these innovations in action during the 50 CPD-accredited seminars, interactive workshops, and product demonstrations.

And the University of Plymouth, acclaimed for its neurology research, will be hosting neurological rehabilitation workshops in a dedicated theatre throughout the event.

Neuro Convention is being held at the N.E.C. in Birmingham on the 6th and 7th of July, and here's where you can find out more: [4]
