Award-winning stand-up comedian ‘down but not out’ to star at the 2022 BABICM Conference.

Celebrated comedian Aaron Simmonds will be sharing his unique perspective of life (and belly buttons) at the annual; conference of the British Association of Brain Injury and Complex Case Management (BABICM) this month.

In his own words...

Aaron Simmonds has been failing to stand up for 32 years; luckily, he is far better at comedy than standing up.

As the after-dinner speaker with lived experience of disability, Aaron’s is an inspiring example of the 2022 conference theme, 'Down But Not Out: The Fighter Still Remains'.

Krysalis will also be at the two-day event. We’ll be among the exhibitors offering advice and information to enhance brain injury and complex case management services.

On stage, among the expert speaker line up, brain injury topics linked to sports, homelessness and the criminal justice system will come under the spotlight.

And among the speakers sharing their expertise and experience will be:

  • British equestrian Laura Collett M.B.E. on 'going for gold' despite suffering severe multiple injuries after falling from a horse in 2013.
  • English professional footballer, Jeffrey Astle’s daughter, Dawn on how her father's success sadly resulted in his dementia.
  • Professor Huw William, Dr Mark Holloway, and speakers from the Open Justice Project with the latest on human rights protections involving brain injury, young offenders, and homeless people.

The conference is being held at the East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham on the 15th and 16th of June. Come and say hello to us!
