Vocational Rehabilitation

Assisting clients to consider and explore vocational options objectively and realistically is a key element of the rehabilitation process.

Through tailored goals, clients are encouraged to take increased responsibility outside the home as a step towards independence in the workplace. A comprehensive baseline vocational rehabilitation assessment focuses initially on the individual’s abilities, including the impact their diagnosis has on their cognitive, perceptual and physical abilities.

Krysalis has experience in working with self employed individuals, statutory and private sector organisations.

Krysalis will;

  • Provide rehabilitation on returning to previous employer or re-training advice for a new vocation.
  • Offer education and advice to employers regarding their employee, including the level of support required and any additional equipment needs.
  • Link in with public sector and voluntary services.
  • Offer specific skill re-training through detailed task analysis and problem solving.

Voluntary placements can be used as a stepping stone to paid employment for some individuals. Alternatively a voluntary placement may offer an opportunity for improving social skills or provide structure to the week.

Krysalis will work along side organisations to find suitable local placements for individuals. Ongoing support and monitoring of the placement is also offered if required.
