Introduction to brain injury
An introduction to brain injury course offers family and carers an understanding of brain function and how it can be affected by injury.
This course can be a simple introduction or include more in depth days on different topics such as;
- Community Support
- Facilitating Independence
- Managing Tone and Splinting
- Understanding Behaviour
- Cognitive problems after Brain Injury
Bespoke training
Personalised training on working with an individual can be provided following an Occupational Therapy assessment, this aims too increase support workers understanding of the individual so to ensure a team approach to rehabilitation.
An effective approach is one that is consistent and based on understanding and knowledge of the individual’s brain injury. Time spent discussing the rehabilitation needs and approaches have shown to offer more effective intervention.
